Hair wax, hair lacquer or hair gel - what styling products do you need for your particular hair?

Most of us sometimes have trouble getting our hair to sit exactly as we want it. You may also experience it when you stand in front of the mirror in the morning trying to get the curls to do right or make a stubborn hair to turn right.

The good news is that your challenges can probably be solved by switching to the right styling product. Different types of hair need different properties in a styling product - for example, hair wax is excellent for creating teams in short hair, while it needs to be used more cautious in long hair so as not to weigh it down.

To help you get as much pleasure from your hair and your hairstyle as possible, here we have put together a little guide to choosing the right styling products for your particular hair type and hairstyle. Read on and learn more about whether it is hair lacquer, hair gel or something completely third that can turn your bad hair day into a good one of a kind.

Short hair: Find a good hair wax or hair gel

A good hair wax is indispensable for the short hairstyle and should always be found in the closet in the bathroom or in the bag if the hairstyle is to be freshened up during the day. The many different types of wax and hair gel are all designed to give hold and preserve the shape of your hairstyle, but there is still a difference between them. For example, some give medium teams and thus a more soft look, while others are more powerful and make the hair a little more stiff.

If you choose a hair gel or gel wax, you will find that the hair looks a little more "styled" and less natural than if you choose a matte wax. It's perfect if you go for a wet look effect or a very shiny expression. Should your styling product be as invisible in the hair as possible, go for a wax without shine.

Tip: Look for the desired team and shine when choosing your hair wax or hair gel.

Long and medium hair: hair lacquer, saltwater spray and mousse

Hair lacquer has been especially the women's regular companion for many decades. However, there has been a tremendous development of the hair lacquer since the old -fashioned variants that many may remember - those who make the hair uncomfortably rigid and, moreover, associated with a sharp and barely pleasant scent.

Today, there are also variants that are less powerful and let the hair preserve its natural appearance. Thus, you can easily use them in long hair to give the team and volume in a natural and discreet way. If lots of teams are needed in connection with a setup, you can still get hair lacquer with lots of teams for eg setups. Here you can also choose to combine with a styling mousse that needs to be applied to the hair before putting it up and also helping to hold on to the hairstyle.

If you are into the more messy "beach look", we recommend a saltwater spray. It is perfect for creating texture and life in the hair regardless of length, but it works especially well in page hairdressers and in long hair with floors. If you have a little drop in your hair, a saltwater spray is also a good way to highlight it.

Curly hair: here is a styling cream indispensable

If you are blessed with curly hair, you are probably used to it being noticed and admired. But you also know that it is not always so easy and may require some work to make the curls sit right. Here's a good styling cream key to success.

The most common is a styling cream that is hugged into the hair when it is towel. That way you can shape the curls, which you then dry with a diffuser at low speed so as not to blow the curls out of shape. A good curling cream makes the curls exciting and elastic while giving a good team. In addition, it often prevents frizzy and electric hair, causing the curls to stand even sharper. Once you've got the curls in place, you can always give them one last finish and extra hold with a hair varnish.

Fine hair: styling products that create volume

In the Nordic countries, the most common hair type is fine hair that tends to lack volume. Fortunately, if you miss more fullness and life in your hair, there are many possible solutions to the problem.

One of the solutions is a root lift that creates volume right down from the hair roots. That is, you also get fullness at the top of the hair, where it otherwise has the greatest tendency to split together. You get a similar effect by using a hair powder that is also applied to the scalp. With a powder you get both more fullness and hold, just as it gives a matte styling. It also works well when the hair needs to be tipped or set up.

The third option is a volumizing mousse, which must be distributed in towel -dried hair before blowing. Here, there is more focus on creating fullness in lengths, and a mousse can therefore be combined with a root lift or hair powder. If you are not so much into mousse, you can also use a saline spray to create fullness and texture.
