Care Guide for Synthetic Hair

Your new hair should be treated gently. With the right care, you ensure that your wig lasts longer and maintains its shine and volume. The warranty provided by Toftild covers manufacturing defects only. It is your responsibility to give the hair proper care.

Keep the wig away from heat sources (wood-burning stoves, candles, steam from boiling water, oven doors, and similar), as the synthetic fibers may melt. Never use a hair dryer, curling iron, or flat iron on synthetic hair, as this can cause the fibers to melt.

Do not sleep or rest while wearing your wig. Instead, use a night cap or turban.

Hair Washing

Only use special care products developed for synthetic hair and wash in cold water. We recommend Toftild’s care range for synthetic hair.

Mix approximately 1 tablespoon of shampoo with 1 liter of cold water. Let the hair soak for 10 minutes.

Do not rub or wring the hair when washing the wig, as this may alter the wig’s fit. This is especially important when rinsing and drying the hair.

Rinse out the shampoo with cold water. Rinse from top to bottom to avoid tangling the hair.

Hair Washing

To maintain the hair’s softness and flexibility, use conditioner after every wash.

Mix approximately 1 tablespoon of conditioner with 1 liter of cold water and let the hair soak for 10–15 minutes.

The conditioner should not be rinsed out! Simply lift the wig out and place it in a towel. Gently press out the water without wringing or rubbing the hair.

After Washing

Hold the wig at the front and gently shake it. Then place the hair on a wig stand to air dry. Do not replace the wig stand with a polystyrene head – it is important that the wig can ventilate properly.

Styling

We recommend using Toftild Care Oil 2–3 times a week to maintain the hair’s shine. Spray 2–3 times from approximately 30 cm away onto dry hair, so that only a light mist reaches the lengths.

Use a small brush or a wide-tooth comb to style your hairstyle.

Never use a hairdryer, curling iron, or straightener on the wig. Do not use hair dye or other coloring products.

You may use styling products in your wig, but they must be washable with cold water. We offer a range of styling products for synthetic hair.

After 4–5 months, the hairstyle may begin to lose its shape slightly. If this happens, we recommend booking an appointment to have the wig refreshed at Toftild. The wig will be washed, the style lifted, and curls can be recreated if needed.
