Care Guide for High Heat Fiber Hair
With the right care, you ensure that your wig lasts longer and retains its shine and softness. Toftild only provides a warranty for manufacturing defects, so it is your responsibility to care for the hair properly. Therefore, we recommend that you follow this care guide.
For regular daily use, we recommend washing your wig once a week. If you sweat a lot or wear the wig during high levels of physical activity, it may be necessary to wash the hair more frequently.
Important Reminders
- Only use products specifically developed for High Heat fiber hair.
- If the wig needs to air dry, always use a wig stand and never a styrofoam or rubber head, as the wig will not be able to ventilate properly.
- Be cautious around intense heat sources, such as steam from ovens, wood-burning stoves, candles, and similar sources.
- Never use hair dye or products containing color.
- Do not sleep or rest while wearing the wig.
- Make it a habit to store the wig on a stand when not in use. This helps it maintain its shape.
- Protect the hair from sunlight and discoloration. Feel free to wear a scarf or cap if you are spending time in the sun.

Hair Wash
If you use wig tape, it must be removed and the adhesive area cleaned with cleansing water or multi-solvent before washing.
Use only care products specially developed for synthetic hair and wash in cold water. We recommend Toftild’s care series for synthetic hair.
Mix approx. 1 tablespoon of shampoo with 1 liter of cold water. Let the hair soak for 2–5 minutes.
Do not rub or wring the hair when washing the wig, as this may alter the wig’s fit. This is especially important when rinsing and drying the hair.
Rinse out the shampoo with cold water. Rinse from top to bottom to avoid tangling.

Hair Wash
To maintain the hair’s softness, you must use conditioner after every wash.
Mix approx. 1 tablespoon of conditioner with 1 liter of cold water and let the hair soak for 5–10 minutes.
Do not rinse the conditioner out of the hair. Simply lift the wig and place it in a towel. Gently press out the water without wringing or rubbing the hair.

After Washing
Hold the wig at the front and gently shake it. Then place the hair on a wig stand to air dry. Do not replace the wig stand with a polystyrene head – it is important that the wig can ventilate.
The high heat fiber can withstand up to 130°C when damp. This means it can be blow-dried on days when you do not have time to let it air dry.

Styling
We recommend using Toftild Care Oil 1–2 times per week to maintain the hair’s shine. Spray 2–3 times approximately 30 cm from dry hair, so that only a light mist reaches the lengths.
Use a small brush or a wide-tooth comb to style your hairstyle.
You can use styling products in your wig, but they must be washable with cold water. We offer a range of styling products for synthetic hair.
After 4–5 months, the hairstyle may begin to lose some of its shape. If this happens, we recommend booking an appointment to have the wig refreshed at Toftild. The wig will be washed, the style lifted, and curls recreated if needed.

How to Straighten or Curl Your Wig
- First, spray the wig with water until the hair is damp.
- Set your straightener/curling iron to a maximum of 130°C.
- Run the straightener/curling iron through small sections at a time.
- Re-dampen the hair if necessary during the process.
- Allow the hair to dry completely before combing or styling.
Spray with Anti-Static spray to prevent the hair from becoming static or dry. It can also be used during the styling process. Anti-Static spray softens the hair, restores life and shine to the fiber, and rinses out easily.
