It all started when I saw a video on YouTube where a guy had a toupee fitted. I thought it looked really great. I figured you probably couldn’t get something like that here at home, since the video was from a foreign hairdresser. I showed the video to my mom, who said: "Surely there must be someone in Denmark who can do the same?" Toftild was the first result that appeared, and I booked a free consultation.

My first visit was thorough and professional, and I was given a new appointment for the actual fitting. I didn’t keep it a secret that I was going to have hair fitted, and I looked forward to the day with excitement.

I had an appointment early one morning, and for the rest of the day I felt like it was one of the best things that had happened to me in a long time! First of all, the toupee takes several years off my age, and I realized how much it means to have hair on your head. There’s a great deal of personality and self-confidence tied to hair and hairstyle, which you suddenly rediscover.

With proper guidance, I don’t find it difficult or time-consuming to wear a toupee. I actually enjoy spending a bit of time and care on achieving a great, stylish hairstyle, so it quickly became part of my daily routine. I got used to having hair again very quickly, and when I go in for maintenance and care, it feels very strange NOT to have the toupee on during the short time it takes to clean it, trim my own hair, and put it back on.

It’s Actually Highly Addictive to Wear a Toupee

It was important to me that it shouldn’t be complicated. And it really isn’t. I wash and blow-dry my hair every day, use wax and other styling products, and it holds up perfectly well. It has simply become part of my daily grooming routine, and I truly enjoy having hair.

Today, it’s completely normal to have all kinds of cosmetic and surgical procedures done, so I have absolutely no hesitation about wearing a toupee. I honestly don’t care if others can tell it’s added hair—but you actually have to get very close to see it. For everyone else who doesn’t know, it looks completely natural.

I wear the toupee all year round and have it cut according to my preferences—for example, shorter in the summer and a bit longer in the winter. It’s fantastic to be able to decide each time how you want your hair cut and styled.

I highly recommend both the product and the service at Toftild. My advice is: if you’re in doubt, try it! You’re not committing to anything, so if it’s not for you, no harm done.

But be prepared to love it—the freedom and confidence that come with having hair are amazing!
