When Does Hair Grow Back?
For many, it can bring a sense of reassurance to know what the outlook is for getting their hair back. It can be difficult to give a completely general answer, as it is individual and depends on the treatment you have received. Our experience tells us that hair typically begins to grow back after chemotherapy has ended. However, in some cases, we also see hair starting to grow before chemotherapy is fully completed.
When the First Hair Starts to Grow
When your new hair begins to grow, it may have a different texture than you previously had. You will typically find that your new hair is finer, thinner, and more curly. In most cases, there is a high likelihood that your hair will eventually resemble what you had before chemotherapy.
As your hair begins to grow, you may feel some tingling or restlessness in the scalp – this is completely natural, although it can be uncomfortable. If you experience this, we recommend our Toftild Beauty Oil for gently massaging the scalp. It increases blood circulation to the scalp and helps soothe the sensation. Additionally, we offer a cooling and gentle lotion, La Biosthetique Lotion Ergines E, which is applied directly to the scalp, providing an immediate soothing effect.
Choose Your Products Carefully
Once you have completed your chemotherapy and your new hair begins to appear, it is important to care for both your hair and scalp with the right products. It is essential to choose fragrance-free and allergy-friendly products, as your scalp is sensitive and exposed. At Toftild, we always recommend caring for your hair with products free from silicone and sulphates. We have written an entire blog post about this, which you can read here.
We recommend washing your scalp and new hair with products from the Botea Pure line. These products are free from silicone, sulphates, and fragrance.
