Use Your Prescription for Headwear Online
If you are undergoing chemotherapy and experiencing hair loss, you may be eligible for a subsidy for headwear through a prescription (medical voucher) from your hospital department or outpatient clinic. This means that the regional health authority covers part of the cost of your headwear – and you are free to choose where you wish to purchase it; you are not limited to the hospital’s list of suppliers.

We assist with all the practical matters related to your prescription and handle the settlement directly with the regional authorities, so you can focus on what matters most – finding the headwear that makes you feel comfortable and confident. No matter where in the country you are receiving treatment, the subsidy amount is the same, and in 2026 the subsidy for headwear is $245.00 incl. VAT. If you purchase for a higher amount, you simply pay the difference.
Important Information
Items purchased with a prescription cannot unfortunately be returned or refunded. A prescription functions as a payment method issued by the region, and once it has been used with us, we have already covered the amount on your behalf and subsequently invoiced the region.
This means that the amount cannot be credited or paid out to you, as the payment comes directly from the region and not from you personally.
Your personal discount code can only be used once, only by you personally, and only for the purchase of scarves, turbans and hats.
The amount cannot be split across multiple purchases, and any remaining balance will expire if the full subsidy amount is not used.
If there is an error with the item or a warranty issue, we will of course be happy to help you find a solution.
Does not apply to Region Midtjylland
If you are a patient in Region Midtjylland, you must pay for your wig or headwear yourself, both for in-store and online purchases. You must then submit your receipt to the region, which will transfer the subsidy amount to your NemKonto.
Claim the subsidy yourself
If you wish to claim the subsidy yourself, please see the procedure below depending on which region you belong to.
Region Nordjylland
If you purchase a wig or headwear in-store, we will handle the settlement with the region. You only need to pay if there is a difference between the total purchase amount and the subsidy. If you purchase headwear online, you must subsequently submit your receipt to the region, which will then transfer the amount to your NemKonto.
Region Midtjylland
If you are a patient in Region Midtjylland, you must pay for your wig or headwear yourself, both for in-store and online purchases. You must then submit your receipt to the region, which will transfer the subsidy amount to your NemKonto.
Region Syddanmark
You can visit one of our stores in Aalborg, Aarhus or Frederiksberg, and we will handle the settlement with the region. You can also purchase headwear online and then submit your receipt to the region, which will transfer the amount to your NemKonto.
Region Hovedstaden and Region Sjælland
If you purchase a wig or headwear in our Frederiksberg store, we will handle the settlement with the region. You only need to pay if there is a difference between the total purchase amount and the subsidy. If you purchase headwear online, you must pay for the order yourself and then send both the prescription and the order number to us at support@toftild.com. We will then invoice the region and refund the amount to you.
