A thin skin toupee has a durability of 4–6 weeks, after which it is removed and a new one is attached. The 4–6 week lifespan is due to the hairs being injected rather than knotted, which means this base type is not suitable for cleaning and reattachment. With a thin skin toupee, you get a base thickness of 0.06 mm.
